Flights to Geneva

At the foot of the Alps and along the banks of the Lake Geneva, Geneva is one of Europe’s most stunning cities. Synonymous with the UN, Geneva has a long history and tradition of diversity and tolerance, and nowadays is a hub of culture where the quality of life is apparent in the vast number of tourists that flock to this city each year. Geneva benefits from all the advantages of city living, with top class entertainment and restaurants as well as the benefits of a close surrounding countryside where biking, boating and wine tasting is the norm.

With the breathtaking landscapes that surround the city, even just the transfer from the airport is sure to be memorable. From the second you leave the airport, you can be sure to see some fantastic sights. The Jet d’Eau is a huge water fountain well worth looking out for: it can be seen from the whole city, but up close it’s really quite spectacular. Lake Geneva is equally stunning: one of the largest lakes in Europe, it makes an important contribution to Geneva’s sense of natural beauty. Meanwhile, if you’re headed towards the outskirts of the city, make sure to stop off in the old town at the Place Bourg du Four.

If you live in London, there are plenty of options when it comes to travelling to Geneva. Because all of the major airports – Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted – serve Geneva, you can make sure you get the best deal by comparing different flights. The flight from London to Geneva is around an hour and a half. You can choose the airline to suit you too: from budget airlines such as Ryan Air and Easy Jet to larger companies such as British Airways and Swiss Air, there’s a flight to suit every traveller.

Those further North of London have plenty of options to travel to the Swiss capital too – with flights from Newcastle, Manchester and Liverpool. Flights take a fraction longer from these locations – around 100 minutes – but it still means that you’ll be able to enjoy breakfast in one country and lunch in the next, all without too much stress. For those in the Midlands, the East Midlands airport offers flights from budget and charter airlines.

Geneva is a stunning city to visit, whether you have been before or not. With so many affordable and convenient travel options to the city, there is no reason not to make this fabulous location your next holiday destination.
