La Jolla is a beautiful place, and in my opinion, the most beautiful in the continental US. I never realized it was actually part of San Diego. Do you live in or near La Jolla? Would you reccomend it?

La Jolla is a part of San Diego county, but not in the city of San Diego. So, they don’t get to vote for mayor of the city of San Diego. They vote to elect a county supervisor that represents them at the county government.
I agree La Jolla is extraordinary!

Yes, residents in La Jolla do get to vote for mayor of San Diego. It is a community in the CITY of San Diego like Pacific Beach, Mission Valley, Clairemont Mesa, ect… La Jolla is part of the city of SD as it gets city services like SDPD, SDFD, their schools are in the SD Unified School District, ect….
I live just south of La Jolla and used to live in the UTC area right next to it. It is one of the nicest places to live and very wealthy. I would recommend it to anyone that can afford to live there. Some of my favorite beaches and spots are in La Jolla like Windansea and the Cove, which is great for snorkeling.

La Jolla is a community in the city of San Diego, so you do get to vote for mayor.
I lived there when I was younger, but unfortunately it is now too pricey for my modest income. I loved La Jolla’s beauty and charm and it is home to some the best surfing beaches in the world like Tourmaline, Wind-and-Sea, and Black’s/Torey Pines . Pacific Beach and Mission Bay are just to the south.
There are also a variety of fine restaurants and boutique shops in the Village pulse you are just minutes from UCSD and University Town Center mall. There also several great cultural institutions like the La Jolla Playhouse, La Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Atheaum music center and library.
I would highly recommend La Jolla as a place to live if you have the money.
