What is a good mother/daughter summer vacation for a 14 year old?

My mom and I want to vacation together this summer and we have already been to London. We are considering Paris or Costa Rica.
PS: money is not too much of a problem, just not overboard.

There are a lot of places I could suggest, but New York City is great. Lots of great shopping and cool sites. Have fun!
